Re: Downturn fundraising
Fri, July 11, 2008 - 11:54 AMI wish more people would be willing to pay for a good or service produced by a non-profit where any 'profit' went back into the non-profit, rather then just buying their favorite designer or brand.
I know that is not answering the question, and the agency I work for is not currently interested in enterprising. But it if that became a real trend it could provide higher-paying jobs to working class folks who do that stuff already for for-profit corps, and the money would go back into programs, social workers, and resource preservation, rather then in the pockets of top managers and those intangible 'owners'- the shareholders.

Fri, July 11, 2008 - 1:24 PMI'm trying to get all my grants in NOW before the downturn really hits the West Coast! Though everyone's stock portfolio has already taken a hit, including my organization's endowment. Next year could be even tougher. -
